no 97/13 Monthly review of risk parameters for Nordic, German and UK and Dutch Electricity Contracts, UK Natural Gas Contracts, Allowances Contracts and Swedish-Norwegian Electricity Certificates Contracts (EUR and SEK)

Oslo, 5 December 2013

Risk parameters for Nordic, German, UK and Dutch Electricity Contracts, UK Natural Gas Contracts, Allowances Contracts and Swedish-Norwegian Electricity Certificates Contracts will be updated based on a monthly review.

The updated parameters will have impact on the calculation of the daily margin requirement for which collateral must be posted by 10:30 CET on Tuesday, December 10, 2013

Margin curves, correlation matrices and inter-commodity credit factors are updated for all markets. Margin curves for UK Base Load and UK Peak Load Electricity Contracts are increased in the front end of the curve due to observance of increased volatility. The change will result in higher margins for naked positions in close to delivery contracts. Overall, the changes will not impact margin requirements significantly.

The same margin curve will be used for Swedish-Norwegian Electricity Certificates Contracts nominated in EUR and in SEK.
