Change of Chairman of the Board in April 2014
Steen Riisgaard (62), Chairman of the Board, informs that he will not be a candidate for re-election at the Annual General Meeting on 9 April 2014.
The Annual General Meeting on 17 April this year was historic, as the Company for the first time in 104 years would neither have family members as Chairman nor as CEO. For this reason quite some time up to the Annual General Meeting was spent on defining the tasks of the Chairman and the Governance in which he works in ROCKWOOL International.
After 8 months of experience Steen Riisgaard has concluded that the match is not optimal, which is the background for his decision today not to go for re-election.
The other members of the ROCKWOOL International Board have decided that they – if re-elected - will constitute themselves on 9 April 2014 with Bjørn Høi Jensen as new Chairman and with Carsten Bjerg and Thomas Kähler as respectively first and second Vice Chairman.
Bjørn Høi Jensen (52) is M.Sc. (Economics) from the University of Copenhagen. He has had a long career with the Wallenberg sponsored private equity fund EQT, first in Stockholm and later in Copenhagen and Munich. Before EQT Bjørn Høi Jensen worked for investment banks in Denmark and London.
After 2008 Bjørn has been working as a professional Board member with Board positions in the publishing house Gyldendal, in Dovista within the Velux Group and at the same time been a member of EQT’s investment committees.
Bjørn joined the Board of ROCKWOOL International in 2009 and has been Chairman of the Audit Committee since 2012.
Furthermore Bjørn is Deputy Chairman of Erhvervsinvest and Board member in the Bevica Foundation.
Among Bjørn Høi Jensen’s other commitments can be mentioned that he is Chairman of the think tank CEPOS.
