LONDON, Dec. 11, 2013 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Willis Group Holdings (NYSE:WSH), the global risk adviser, insurance and reinsurance broker, has appointed Simon Ashby CEO of Global Solutions International, the company's large multinational focused arm.
Based in London and reporting to Dominic Samengo-Turner, Global Head of Broking and Products, and Steve Hearn, Deputy CEO of Willis Group, Ashby will drive efforts to build Willis's multinational client portfolio. He will work closely with the new industry and product heads announced in October to ensure Willis delivers innovative and holistic risk management solutions to large global corporations.

Ashby joins Willis from Bowring Marsh Bermuda, where he has worked since 2003 as Managing Director - FINPRO, with responsibility for a significant number of major accounts from around the world. Prior to that, he was Managing Director and Chief Underwriting Officer of Gulf Insurance Company UK Ltd. He has also held senior roles with Johnson & Higgins Limited, Holmes Johnson Lessiter Financial Group (part of A&A) and Stewart Wrightson Limited.
