American Truck Showrooms Donates to Southeastern Louisiana University Turtle Cove's Research Station

GULFPORT, Miss., Dec. 17, 2013 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- American Truck Showrooms (www.americantruckshowrooms.com) recently donated $2,500 to Southeastern Louisiana University Turtle Cove's Environmental Research Station. (http://www.southeastern.edu/acad_research/programs/turtle_cove/index.html)

Graduate student Amanda Normand presented the check on behalf of her father Louis J. Normand, Jr. who is Chief Executive Officer of American Truck Showrooms.

The donation will be used toward Turtle Cove's educational and community outreach programs, which provides information on the natural, socio-economic, and cultural impacts of wetland loss and pollution.

Mr. Normand is pleased to be involved with the Turtle Cove's Research Station and has made other efforts to better the environment within his own business. This has included an active recycling program, LED light panels throughout the dealership, and an environmentally friendly Closed Loop Truck Wash system that captures, cleans, and reuses the water used at the American Truck Showrooms site. The American Truck Showrooms (www.americantruckshowrooms.com) truck dealership has locations in the Gulf Coast region and the Atlanta area. The company has developed a special niche in the owner-operator market, offering a "Rent to Buy" program. For many owner-operators, this provides a perfect solution for working toward truck ownership and the start of their own trucking business.
