IHC Merwede to support globalization, collaboration, and growth with IFS

IFS (http://www.ifsworld.com/), the global enterprise applications company,
announces that IHC Merwede (http://www.ihcmerwede.com/), the global market
leader in efficient dredging and mining vessels and equipment, has selected IFS
Applications™ (http://www.ifsworld.com/en/solutions/ifs-applications-8/) to
support its key business processes. The contract licenses are worth
approximately EUR 2 million.
As part of a company-wide efficiency program aimed at consolidating the
company’s global processes, Dutch company IHC Merwede decided to implement IFS
Applications. The IFS solution was chosen after an extensive selection process
that included a number of competing ERP systems.

IFS Applications will be implemented as IHC Merwede’s single ERP
system—supporting the company’s key strategic goals: collaboration,
globalization, and growth. The implementation, which will be performed in phases
and is expected to be complete in 2017, will be rolled out to all IHC Merwede
sites globally, replacing a large number of  IT systems. By consolidating its IT
environment, IHC Merwede will gain increased business agility, transparency and
uniformity of information, which is a vital part of its national and
international value chain.

“We selected IFS Applications for its proven track record in the shipbuilding
industry,” IHC Merwede CFO Dave Vander Heyde said. “IFS understands our business
and, because of its global presence, the company is able to support us anywhere
in the world, enabling us to work with one core ERP system.”

“We are very happy to welcome IHC Merwede as yet another shipbuilding customer,”
IFS Benelux managing director Marco Verdonschot said. “Our solution works well
in this industry with its complex global supply chains and engineering and
manufacturing processes. We look forward to working with IHC Merwede on
implementing IFS Applications and streamlining its business processes.”
