LOMBARD, Ill., Jan. 14, 2014 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Veolia Transportation is pleased to announce Patricia A. Day has joined the company as Senior Director for Labor Relations. Day is an accomplished labor relations professional with 25 years of experience advising and assisting clients on day-to-day labor issues, including positions as Chief Labor Relations Officer for two of the nation's largest transit authorities.

Prior to joining Veolia, Day spent the past five years as Vice President for Human Resources at the University of Scranton, where she assumed overall responsibility for all aspects of human resources and employment. Prior to Scranton, Day worked for four years as Director for Labor Relations and Labor Counsel for the Massachusetts Port Authority, successfully negotiating collective bargaining agreements with the Authority's nine bargaining units.
Day previously served as the Chief Labor Relations Office at both the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority (MBTA) in Boston and the Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation (SEPTA) in Philadelphia where she was responsible for all aspects of labor relations." While with the MBTA she rebuilt the labor relations department and strengthened labor/management relationships with the Authority's 29 unions. She implemented the 1998 settlement reached with Boston Carmen's union.
Patricia is a graduate of Boston College and Suffolk University Law School, and is admitted to the Bar in Massachusetts and the United States Court of Appeals-First Circuit. In 2004 she received the Cushing Gavin Award for Management from the Boston Labor Guild.
