OTTAWA, Jan. 17, 2014 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Former COO Steve Dodds was named CEO in October 2013 after Niraj stepped aside as CEO. Niraj has moved on to do consulting work as he follows through on a family commitment for international travel. Niraj was co-Founder and initial Chairman of Energate, and its CEO since 2004.
Under Niraj's leadership, Energate achieved a number of key milestones including:
- over 40 utility pilots for residential demand response in partnership with many of the top smart grid companies
- major project with Silver Springs Networks and Oklahoma Gas and Electric (OGE) providing smart thermostats for the SmartHours deployment delivering over 100 MW peak reduction
- full approval and software installation for Ontario's peaksaver PLUS® Program with the Ontario Power Authority
- over $15M of capital raised to fund Energate's development
- awarded contract with Ontario's Smart Grid Fund to work with Ontario utility companies to enhance consumer engagement to the Smart Grid
- three time Green 15 and 2013 Technology Fast 50 Award winner
