OVERLAND PARK, Kan., Jan. 20, 2014 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Dan Kieny has joined Black & Veatch as Chief Information Officer (CIO) and Senior Vice President leading its information technology (IT) operations. In this role, he will oversee the global IT services supporting the company's worldwide business and operations needs.
Kieny has more than 20 years of experience in strategic planning, business process redesign, contract negotiations, staff development and systems integration. He has also implemented business processes for consulting operations, finance, human resources, procurement and project management. His global experience includes work in Asia Pacific, Europe, New Zealand and the United States.

"His broad range of knowledge and experience will help enhance the technology set that our workforce requires to serve our clients' increasingly complex needs."
Kieny previously was Vice President and Global Innovation Director for MWH Global, Inc. In this role, he led the creation of intellectual property software tools and systems. He served in previous roles with responsibilities for new innovation strategies and division-wide profit and loss. He also has experience in general management as well as in IT systems and software development.

Kieny replaces former CIO Brad Vaughan who retired after 39 years of service. Kieny earned Bachelors of Science degrees from the University of Nebraska at Lincoln. He also holds an MBA from Creighton University in Omaha, Neb. Kieny will be based at the company's Global Headquarters in Overland Park, Kan.
