ORLANDO, FL--(Marketwired - Jan 21, 2014) - PGA MERCHANDISE SHOW, Booth 1291 -- iON America, the company that brought Shoot/Share™ Wi-Fi connectivity to point-of-view (POV) cameras, has acquired PowerChalk LLC, a privately-held company whose unique, web-based analysis software facilitates teaching and sharing in motion sports, such as golf, tennis and baseball. As part of the acquisition, PowerChalk CEO Chaz Henry has been named CTO of iON America. Henry will head the company's new software division, overseeing software development and integration for the growing line of iON cameras.
iON will immediately begin bundling its iON The Game™ wireless motion-analysis camera with the PowerChalk™ online service, creating the industry's first camera-software solution that includes a coaching marketplace. The PowerChalk service enables users -- both teaching pros and students - to upload, voiceover and annotate ("chalk talk") their videos.
