BROOMFIELD, Colo., Jan. 27, 2014 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Huntington Ingalls Industries (NYSE:HII) announced today that its subsidiary, The S.M. Stoller Corp., has hired Jeffery M. Baker to serve as an assistant vice president at Stoller's Broomfield office.
Baker currently serves as deputy director of the project management coordination office for the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE). He will join the Stoller team on Feb. 10 and will be responsible for business development and the development of sustainable markets for Stoller.

In addition to his role as deputy director of the project management coordination office, Baker is the senior member of the Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy's (EERE) leadership team. He also served as director of the DOE's Office of Laboratory Operations in Golden, Colo., and as a staff engineer for the DOE's Solar Energy Research Institute Area Office in Golden.
Baker was awarded a Samuel J. Heyman Service to America Medal in 2010 for his successful campaign leading to the construction of the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) Research Support Facility, a first-of-a-kind LEED Platinum research facility. Medals are presented annually by the Partnership for Public Service to celebrate excellence in federal civil service.
Stoller, a wholly owned subsidiary of HII since Jan. 2, operates under HII's Newport News Shipbuilding (NNS) division.
