Family-Centered Charity Aligns With Nine Other Organizations to Address Pressing Children's Health Issues in Africa, Asia, Latin America and the U.S.A.
OAK BROOK, IL--(Marketwired - Jan 28, 2014) - The global office of Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) recently granted $3,854,107 to nine organizations focused on directly improving the health and wellbeing of children through innovative train-the-trainer projects. The organization's Global Grant investments extend the geographic reach of the Charity furthering its impact by moving dollars quickly to vulnerable populations who lack basic healthcare, resources and services.
The following organizations received RMHC Global Grants:
Through these projects centered on maternal and infant health, disease management, sanitation and hygiene, oral health, and basic pediatric care, RMHC is able to focus on partnerships that improve children's health, in sustainable, measurable ways. These investments will impact more than 1,000,000 children across the world.
"Child mortality rates around the globe continue to be alarming. There is a need to invest in resources and training to create lasting change," said David C. "For 40 years, RMHC has been part of the solution in helping to eliminate some of the barriers that make it more difficult for families and children to get the health care they need."
Through its Global Grants and matching grants program to local U.S. RMHC Chapters, the Charity has awarded nearly $97 million in grants in the last eleven years.
