Akre Capital Hires Head of Strategic Planning and Client Services

Creates New Position to Expand Its Institutional Investor Relationships


MIDDLEBURG, Va., Feb. 3, 2014 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Akre Capital Management, LLC announced the appointment of Daniel Leger as Head of Strategic Planning and Client Services. With extensive alternative investment industry experience, Mr. Leger will focus on building and expanding the firm's relationships with institutional investors and consultants.

Prior to joining Akre Capital Management, Mr. Leger worked with a wide variety of fund managers. He has held senior business development roles aimed at raising assets at BRI Partners, a Chicago based venture capital firm which seeded, among others, Ore Hill Partners, a multi-billion dollar credit manager now owned by Man Group; Steel Partners, a global shareholder activist manager; and Geosphere Capital Management, a New York based natural resources hedge fund. Mr. Leger holds a Ph.D. in political philosophy and international relations from the University of Notre Dame in Indiana and a BA in Political Science.
