PositiveID Corporation Adds U.S. Homeland Security and Counter-Terrorism Expert Thomas DiNanno to Its Advisory Board

DELRAY BEACH, Fla., Feb. 4, 2014 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- PositiveID Corporation ("PositiveID" or "Company") (OTCQB:PSID), a developer of biological detection and diagnostics solutions, today announced it has added Thomas DiNanno to its Advisory Board. Mr. DiNanno, who led the stand-up of the first National Bio-surveillance Integration System, joins PositiveID's current advisors Mike Campbell, Yuval Rabin and Dr. Kimothy Smith. The Company expects to leverage Mr. DiNanno's homeland security and counter-terrorism expertise and relationships within the U.S. government and private sector to secure opportunities for PositiveID's M-BAND and Firefly products.

Mr. DiNanno is President of Republic Consulting Group working closely with corporate and government clients to provide enterprise risk management and cyber security solutions to financial services, health care and other critical infrastructure operators. He previously served as Deputy Assistant Secretary for Critical Infrastructure Protection at the U.S. Department of Homeland Security ("DHS") where he was responsible for Homeland Security initiatives to identify and protect the nation's critical infrastructure. Mr. DiNanno also served as a key architect of the DHS and business community interface. Previously he served as Special Assistant to the Chief of Staff in DHS, and in the White House Office of Homeland Security as Director of Corporate Relations from November 2001 to March 2003, reporting directly to then DHS Secretary, Governor Tom Ridge.

Mr. DiNanno is one of the country's foremost experts on corporate and government interaction in the post 9/11 era. He has also represented the United States in several bilateral initiatives involving cooperation between the private sector and government infrastructure and counter-terrorism initiatives, in Latin America, Canada and Europe. He received his MS in Business and Urban Planning from Massachusetts Institute of Technology, an MA in Government Administration from the University of Pennsylvania, and an MA in International Relations at the Fletcher School of Law & Diplomacy. He received a BA in Economics and Latin American Studies from Middlebury College.
