PHILADELPHIA, Feb. 5, 2014 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Teach for America (TFA) has selected Diversified Search (Diversified) to recruit the key position of Executive Director – D.C. Region. Diversified was founded in 1974 and is one of the nation's top ten executive search firms. Together, TFA's current teachers, called "corps members," and alumni are dedicated to closing the achievement gap and making it possible for all children in the nation to access an excellent education.

"We are looking for an individual who will lead our regional team and will build upon the significant progress already underway in the region," said TFA D.C. Regional Board Chair Katherine Bradley. "We selected Diversified because of their close alignment with TFA, their shared sense of mission in achieving excellence for all children. They have the in-depth national resources and innovative outlook to lead this important search."  In the D.C. ABOUT TEACH FOR AMERICA…

All kids—no matter where they live, how much money their parents make, or what their skin color is – deserve access to a great education. But in our country today, low-income children do not have the same access to a great education as their wealthier peers. It's not easy to close this gap, but hundreds of proof points show that it's possible. It takes committed leaders in our classrooms today who will continue to fight for students tomorrow. Teach For America's mission is to build the movement to eliminate educational inequity by developing such leaders.
