DETROIT, Feb. 7, 2014 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Covisint Corporation (Nasdaq:COVS), provider of the leading cloud engagement platform, will co-host with a webinar with Enterprise Management Associates (EMA) on Tuesday, February 11, 2014, to help organizations take back control of their software as a service (SaaS) and cloud investments.
Attendees will learn how high-performing organizations manage usage, provide support and define success in outsourcing their identity management needs. Covisint will present the best practices to use and pitfalls to avoid in implementing cloud-based identity as-a-service (IDaaS) to optimize the new SaaS-based enterprise. Attendees will also learn how an identity-based ITSM approach provides a central point for resource management enterprise-wide.
EMA Vice President, Dennis Drogseth, will join Covisint's Director of Product Marketing for Identity Services, Halim Cho, to present the findings of an EMA survey of more than 100 enterprises and their progress toward utilizing security and access control to manage SaaS deployments. Specifically, the survey found that:
- only 44 percent of organizations could estimate how many SaaS services their enterprises used;
- only 34 percent of enterprises believed that they were very successful in optimizing their SaaS deployments; and, among other findings,
- almost 60 percent wanted, but did not have, a fully integrated system for managing SaaS deployments, including identity management, security information event management (SIEM), usage and response-time monitoring.
"Organizations are externalizing key business functions in the cloud at a rapid pace, and they need to orchestrate that process in a way that drives both IT and business success," said Drogseth. "To make sound decisions, then, it's important to understand all your SaaS and cloud options.
