Veolia Transportation Begins Operations of Paratransit Service for Riverside Transit Agency


RIVERSIDE, Calif., Feb. 7, 2014 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Veolia officially launched service for the Riverside Transit Agency (RTA) on Saturday, February 1, 2014. Under the new contract, which was awarded in October 2013, Veolia will provide paratransit service utilizing 98 vehicles and employing just under 200 operators and staff. RTA is among largest geographic service areas in the U.S.

Veolia will deploy advanced paratransit technologies to improve productivity and performance including VeoliaVision, its proprietary performance dashboard, and its highly customized version of Ron Turley and Associates maintenance software.  Veolia's local and corporate teams will be dedicated to improving and sustaining quality, safety and service.  They will support the RTA in its efforts to continually seek improvements in service to its communities.

The RTA voted unanimously to award Veolia Transportation the paratransit contract to transport approximately 430,000 passengers annually. The contract term is for three years with (two) one-year extension options.
