NEW GOVERNANCE TRAINING CERTIFICATE PROGRAM IN QUALITY AND SAFETY

The Governance Institute, together with The Thomas Jefferson University School of Population Health, provides a university-level quality training certificate program for healthcare executives and board members.

SAN DIEGO, Feb. 10, 2014 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- The Governance Institute, a service of National Research Corporation, is continuing its partnership with The Thomas Jefferson University School of Population Health to present a one-day training program on quality and safety for board members who attend an upcoming Leadership Conference hosted by The Governance Institute on March 9, 2014, at the JW Marriott Tucson Starr Pass Resort and Spa in Tucson, Arizona. The program will be led by Dr. David Nash, dean of The Thomas Jefferson University School of Population Health.

This interactive training focuses on strategic and tactical issues involved in creating a cutting-edge quality and safety governance program. The program will include practical examples of the board's role and the role of the quality committee in quality and patient safety efforts, and will incorporate the perspectives of all affected stakeholders in the healthcare system. Upon successful completion of the course, board members will receive a certificate from The Governance Institute and The Thomas Jefferson University School of Population Health. "There is a critical need to ensure that patients receive the best quality care without harm, at all times," said Jona Raasch, CEO of The Governance Institute. "Boards have a vital responsibility to hardwire this into the cultures of their organizations. This training program provides valuable take-home lessons for boards looking to accomplish this goal."

This is the third program of this kind. The first was presented in February 2013 at The Breakers in Palm Beach, FL, and the second was presented in October 2013 at The Greenbrier in White Sulphur Springs, West Virginia. Attendees included healthcare board members and executives.

Program tuition for March 9 in Tucson, Arizona, is $495 for members and $595 for non-members. For more information and to register, visit www.governanceinstitute.com or contact Alexis LaFleur at alafleur@GovernanceInstitute.com or (858) 646-3442.

The Governance Institute will offer the training program again on September 14 at a summer Leadership Conference at The Broadmoor in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
