DETROIT, Feb. 11, 2014 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Compuware Corporation (Nasdaq:CPWR), the technology performance company, announces:

What: Thirst Innovation, a design exercise and exhibition focused on the drinking vessel, will open during the Drinks x Design event on February 13 from 5:30 - 8:00 p.m. Drinks x Design is a monthly gathering that opens the doors to Detroit's most unique venues enabling attendees to experience, explore and build relationships.

The Thirst Innovation exhibition features drinking vessels created by area artists and designers and runs through February 20. The public is welcome and attendees are encouraged to vote for the work that they find the most engaging to determine the "People's Choice Award" winner.

Local design professionals will also judge the objects in specific industry categories.

Winners of the design challenge, determined by both popular vote and design professionals, will be announced at the closing event the evening of February 20 from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m.

Who: Featured artists, AIREA STUDIO and Drinks x Design representatives, as well as Compuware's Art Program Manager and exhibit curator Meg Heeres will be at the opening.

Yao Fen You, assistant curator of European Sculpture and Decorative Arts at the Detroit Institute of Arts, will be presenting at the closing event. She will be sharing her expertise about the evolution and ingenuity of tableware design.

Who Should Attend: Journalists are invited to attend the opening and closing events. The public is welcome through the duration of the exhibition and are encouraged to cast their votes for the "People's Choice Award."
