Lenox Hill Hospital, Chelsea Piers Announce Three-Year Marketing Partnership

Lenox Hill Named "Official Health & Wellness Partner" of Chelsea Piers

NEW YORK, Feb. 11, 2014 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Chelsea Piers and Lenox Hill Hospital's soon-to-be-opened medical complex serving Lower Manhattan today announced a new three-year marketing partnership. As part of the new agreement, Lenox Hill is now the official hospital and health and wellness partner of the Chelsea Piers Sports & Entertainment Complex, a 28-acre sports village built on three historic Hudson River piers.

The deal will provide Lenox Hill's new West Village health facility, scheduled to open this June, with valuable brand exposure across multiple platforms, including health and wellness messaging on the Chelsea Piers electronic video screen and video wall, a year-round series of health screenings to be held at the various sports venues, and featured content in customer newsletters and social media communications.

"Chelsea Piers has year-round annual visitation of over four million, so this partnership with one of the city's premier sports and entertainment venues offers us great exposure, especially for our new comprehensive care center that will bring 24-hour emergency care and a range of other health and wellness services to the West Side," said Michael Dowling, president and chief executive officer of North Shore-LIJ, which includes the internationally recognized Lenox Hill Hospital and Manhattan Eye, Ear & Throat Hospital on the Upper East Side, as well as the Lenox Hill's new West Village health facility , now under construction at the historic National Maritime Union Building at 7th Avenue, between W. 12th and 13th Streets.

The Lenox Hill medical complex, located on the former campus of St. Vincent's Hospital, will feature: Manhattan's first freestanding, 24/7 emergency department, an imaging center, ambulatory surgery suite, outpatient rehabilitation, health and wellness services, and medical specialty practices.

"We are proud to add Lenox Hill to our line-up of industry leading companies that we count as marketing partners," said Dana Thayer, senior vice president of sponsorship and marketing at Chelsea Piers.  "This partnership will be particularly beneficial to our customers, who will be able to take advantage of a wide range of health and wellness initiatives Lenox Hill will bring to our property."

Chelsea Piers will also serve as a platform for events that link Lenox Hill with the surrounding Chelsea and Greenwich Village communities and target special populations interested in such issues as behavioral health, weight management, senior health and wellness.
