Zygo Receives $3 Million Order From Major Consumer Products Company


MIDDLEFIELD, Conn., Feb. 11, 2014 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Zygo Corporation (Nasdaq: ZIGO), a worldwide supplier of optical metrology instruments and high precision optical systems, today announced that its Custom Metrology Solutions group has been awarded an order valued at $3 million from a major consumer products manufacturer to deliver multiple high performance, non-contact profiling systems for production process control. These specially configured tools will be manufactured in Zygo's Middlefield, Connecticut Headquarters.

"This order is the culmination of a two-year collaboration between our Custom Metrology Solutions group and the customer. Our solution combines Zygo's core metrology expertise with an application-specific platform to provide true process control capability," stated Tony Allan, Chief Operating Officer.  "After extensive qualification, we now transition Zygo's prototype solution from R&D to their high-volume production floor. This order is the first phase in an eventual deployment on four continents, providing our customer with consistent, high-precision metrology in each of their factories."
