Results Released for 13th Annual Survey of Casino Executives Conducted by Spectrum Gaming Group & Bristol Associates, Inc.

LOS ANGELES, Feb. 12, 2014 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Spectrum Gaming Group, the world's foremost gaming research and professional services firm, and Bristol Associates, the gaming industry's leading executive search firm, have released the results of their 13th Internet-based national survey of casino executives to help the gaming industry attract, retain and motivate its executive talent.

The Bristol Associates/Spectrum Gaming Group Casino Executive Survey is the industry's only comprehensive employee-satisfaction survey. This unique survey has continued to expand and has had over 2,500 cumulative responses in just the last five years.

Gaming industry executives from across the country participated and all individual responses are kept confidential. Spectrum Gaming Group has analyzed the results and published them in a white paper which is available to subscribers of its Spectrumetrix™ publications, and participants in the survey will again receive a complimentary copy of the results. Results of the survey can be found at www.bristolassoc.com and at www.spectrumgaming.com.

Some interesting findings from the report are:

  • Wynn Resorts is again the most popular employer of first choice, with Penn National in second place, while MGM Resorts and Caesars Entertainment demonstrated growth as well.
  • Pinnacle Entertainment's appeal as an employer of first choice was particularly noteworthy, while Las Vegas improved significantly as a popular location.
  • Overall optimism for individual career growth dropped somewhat in this survey, representing a slight reversal from the previous trend of post-recession growth in optimism.
  • This year, more employed gaming executives are actively searching for new positions than in 2012.

"This survey provides critical insights into how executives think about their employers, about their competition as potential employers, and about their industry as a whole," Spectrum Executive Vice President Joseph Weinert said. "By conducting this survey annually, both executives and companies can glean valuable trends that are shaping the gaming industry."

Bristol Associates Vice President and General Manager Ben Farber said: "The survey serves as a useful tool to examine the casino gaming industry and the executives who lead it. This year's survey provides insight into the changing landscape of the gaming industry—particularly regarding employee retention and recruitment techniques."
