Love and Gastronomy Unite at One Chic Gin Bar in Paris

From Crepes to Cocktails, the Renaissance Paris Le Parc Trocadero Hotel Introduces Three New Events to Love This Season

PARIS, FRANCE--(Marketwired - Feb 13, 2014) -  There are many reasons to travel to Paris, but for most people, food is on the shortlist. No other city, after all, can combine flavor and flair quite as successfully as the City of Light, and over the next few weeks, the Renaissance Paris Le Parc Trocadero Hotel proves why. With a cocktail class, a romantic Valentine's dinner and a crêpe extravaganza all on the calendar, the Paris hotel's gin mixology bar and restaurant have whipped up three delicious events to remember.

Considering that the property's G'Bar & Lounge is the city's first sipping establishment devoted to gin with 30 different varietals, it's no surprise that this Paris custom drinks bar serves as the setting for the hotel's new Cocktail Atelier. Launched on February 11, 2014 and with additional sessions scheduled for March 11, 2014 at 7 and 9 p.m., the Cocktail Atelier invites cocktail enthusiasts and apprentice bartenders to learn how to master two toothsome new drinks: Le Flower Power Le Parc and Le Red Sweet.

Participants in this tippling tutorial will combine gin with lemon juice, rose syrup and select liqueurs for the botanically inspired Flower Power cocktail. Le Red Sweet, meanwhile, enjoys a vodka base with splashes of cranberry, pineapple and cherry juices, along with cream of peach and cream of blackberry infusions. After shaking and stirring, guests will welcome the sipping, which they can do with appetizers at the bar.

Such a memorable lesson will whet everyone's appetite for the hotel's Valentine's celebrations. As one of the most romantic terrace restaurants in Paris, Le Relais du Parc pairs the elegance of its surroundings with refined innovation on the plate. Executive Chef Stéphane Duchiron has created, for 95EUR per person, a decadent Valentine's menu of caviar rolls, lobster ravioli, medallions of veal and, for dessert, "apples of love" with calvados. No romantic meal would be complete, however, without first tying a love note on the branches of the hotel's Tree of Love. For the second year in a row, the Tree of Love stands proudly in the lush garden, awaiting guests' missives of amour, which they can affix with a red ribbon and let the universe take care of the rest.

The gastronomic fun doesn't end with Valentine's Day, however. On February 26 at 3 p.m., guests can convene once again at this Paris restaurant's inviting terrace for an education in crêpes. Participants in the Atelier Chandeleur will choose from an assortment of fillings as they learn how to prepare (and taste) their own French crêpes. After the two-hour session, a handsome box of crêpes will accompany each guest home as a luscious reminder to return to the kitchen every now and then.

Space for the Cocktail Atelier is limited, and participants must be at least 18 years old. To reserve a place at 35EUR per person, aspiring mixologists can call 33-1-44056640 or email leparc.sales@renhotels.com. More information is available at https://www.facebook.com/events/226135590905873.
