Newport News Shipbuilding will host area high school sophomores and juniors for hands-on learning about engineering careers as part of the annual engineering career day events. This year's event is sponsored by Newport News, NASA Langley Research Center, Jefferson Lab and the Peninsula Engineers Council.
     
When: Thursday, Feb. 20 Southside high school students
  Friday, Feb. 21 Peninsula high school students
     
  Schedule for both days:
  9 a.m. Open house – Students talk to company representatives about their fields of interest
  10 a.m. Opening remarks
  10:20 a.m. Students rotate between career tables
  11:30 a.m. Students participate in an engineering design challenge
  12:15 p.m. Lunch
  12:40 p.m. Recognition of design challenge winners
