Global Cerner Clients Share Worldwide Perspectives at HIMSS14


KANSAS CITY, Mo., Feb. 21, 2014 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Visitors will have a chance to connect with Cerner Corp. (Nasdaq:CERN) clients from around the globe at the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society annual conference in Orlando, Fla.

Island Health and Hospital Marina Salud de Denia will be in Cerner's booth (6965) on Feb. 25, offering their global perspectives on health care IT. Leaders from both organizations will share their journeys to becoming paperless, their experiences partnering with Cerner and executing care across the continuum. They'll also speak to future plans, and solutions they are using for population health, including senior health.

On Feb. 26, Hospital Albert Einstein will be in Cerner's booth to discuss why they selected Cerner and the future plans in store for the organization. Cerner's global presence continued to grow in 2013 as Hospital Albert Einstein became the company's first client in Brazil. Entering the Brazilian health IT market expanded Cerner's footprint to 24 countries, with solutions licensed at more than 14,000 sites.

Cerner's clients around the globe are leading the health IT industry as they innovate and implement solutions to improve the health of their populations.

Island Health delivers services to more than 750,000 residents, clients, and patients across their continuum of care on Vancouver Island, the islands of the Georgia Strait, Salish Sea, and mainland communities north of Powell River and south of Rivers Inlet. Hospital Marina Salud, Dénia, Spain

Hospital Marina Salud currently has one inpatient facility with 211 physicians and 226 nurses. In 2012, Marina Salud became the first Spanish hospital to achieve HIMSS Stage 7, and is now paperless with the information of its 200,000 patients accessible throughout its network.

While in Cerner's booth on Feb. 25, representatives from Hospital Marina Salud will share their journey to HIMSS Stage 7 and becoming completely paperless, including metrics showing return on investment.

Hospital Albert Einstein, São Paulo, Brazil

Hospital Albert Einstein has 9 units and approximately 250 physician offices. Hospital Albert Einstein will be the first to implement Cerner Millennium® in Brazil, and it will be the first Cerner client to use Cerner Millennium in Portuguese. It also was the first hospital in Latin America to earn international accreditation from the Joint Commission International and operates in a socially responsible manner, generating and disseminating knowledge by its Instituto Israelita de Ensino e Pesquina.

On Wednesday, Feb. 26 while in Cerner's booth, a team from Hospital Albert Einstein will speak to their partnership with Cerner, including a roadmap for the organizations' future plans.
