ATLANTA, Feb. 26, 2014 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Cbeyond Inc. (Nasdaq:CBEY), the technology ally for small and mid-sized businesses (SMBs), announced today the opening of its newest regional data center, located in Las Vegas, Nev., which is designed to optimize delivery of cloud services to SMB customers and channel partners in the western region of the U.S.
The facility doubles the size of Cbeyond's cloud data center infrastructure capacity, enhancing support for SMBs and managed services providers (MSPs) using Cbeyond's TotalCloud® Data Center platform, as well as its managed hosting and other cloud services. The data center location affords Cbeyond customers enhanced broadband connectivity through Cbeyond's dedicated network and through advanced, high speed near-net fiber networks provided by Cbeyond's tier-one network connectivity partners.

In operation since November 2013, the expanded computing and network capacity also sets a firm foundation for business continuity, disaster recovery, offsite backup and data replication services, all of which are increasingly important business continuity requirements for compliance-focused businesses, such as law practices, medical practices and financial services firms. The data center is Service Organization Controls (SOC 2) certified, another important requirement for industry-specific privacy and security standards compliance such as Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and Payment Card Industry (PCI).
In addition to Las Vegas, Cbeyond operates cloud services data centers in Atlanta, Ga., and Louisville, Ky., as well as an additional data center in Dallas, Texas.
