FALLS CHURCH, Va. – Feb. 26, 2014 – Northrop Grumman Corporation (NYSE:NOC) has named Don J. Chavez, vice president, associate general counsel and sector counsel for its Technical Services sector, effective March 22. Chavez will report to Sheila C. Cheston, corporate vice president and general counsel.

In his new role, Chavez will lead the legal team at the company's Technical Services sector providing counsel to the sector president and senior staff. He will be responsible for managing the delivery of legal advice to all elements of the sector, including its multiple sites, programs and subsidiaries, across a wide range of legal matters involving government and commercial transactions, business development, investigations, environmental, intellectual property, employment and compliance.
Chavez joined Northrop Grumman in 1991. He currently serves as corporate counsel in the Electronics Systems sector, where he is counsel for the Navigation and Maritime Systems Division. Previously, he held various positions in the company's Aerospace Systems and Electronic Systems sectors. Chavez was also previously general counsel for Thales Avionics Inc. Prior to law school, he was a certified public accountant in Santa Fe, N.M.
Chavez earned a juris doctorate degree from the University of Southern California. He received a bachelor of business administration degree from the University of New Mexico.
