Interim 12-month performance results for "Vilniaus degtinė" AB (2013)

"Vilnius Degtinė" AB sales revenue for January-December of 2013 was 1,2 percent lower than that of the same time frame in 2012. In January-December of 2013, revenue from sales reached 55 283 thousand Lt (16 011k EUR), while in January-December of 2012 it was

55 944k Lt (16 202k EUR).

The revenue from sales of manufactured alcoholic beverages increased by 14,6 percent or   

5 535k Lt (1 603k Lt) in January-December of 2013, when compared to the same time frame last year.

Revenue from ethanol and its products fell by 40,7 percent or 5 838k Lt (1 691 k EUR) in January-December of 2013, when compared to the same time frame last year.

In January-December 2013, revenue from sales of manufactured alcoholic beverages to European Union states grew by 63,6 percept while revenue from sales of the same to third countries grew two-fold, in comparison to the same time frame last year.

The profits before tax reached 126k Lt (36k EUR) in January-December 2013, while during the same time frame in 2012 they amounted to 495k Lt (143k EUR).

The EBITDA of January-December of 2013 was 4162k Lt (1 205k EUR), while it reached

4 287k Lt (1242k EUR) in January-December of 2012.

According to the Director General of "Vilniaus Degtinė" AB, Juozas Daunys, the company markedly increased its export volumes in 2013. "Vilniaus Degtinė" exported twice as much production to third countries than in 2012. The most-exported product was "Shotka Vodka Kanabi", a cannabis vodka - currently, this vodka is supplied to thirteen export markets.

"The greatest growth results were achieved in the premium vodka category segment, where "Vilniaus Degtinė" increased its sales by a whopping 40 percent. After we focused our attention on sales activities concerning the "Bajorų" and "Gedimino" trademarks, the category relating to all of our manufactured vodka products grew by 8,7 percent. In 2013, we renewed the packaging of our "Čepkelių", "Starka" and "Trejos devynerios" brands. These actions led to a 21 percent increase in the sales of our bitters," added the company's director.
