LogMeIn's IoT Platform, Xively, Named Best Cloud-Based Technology for Mobile at GSMA Mobile World Congress

Internet of Things Innovator Gains Increased Recognition for Driving Evolution of the Connected Business

BOSTON, March 5, 2014 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- LogMeIn, Inc. (Nasdaq:LOGM) announced that its Internet of Things (IoT) platform, Xively, was named Best Cloud-Based Technology for Mobile at the 19th Annual Global Mobile awards, during the GSMA Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Spain. LogMeIn was highlighted for its success in helping businesses use the Internet of Things to improve connectivity, optimize operations and drive new revenue opportunities.

The recognition by GSMA comes on the heels of two other key accolades: LogMeIn was recently named one of the 10 most innovative IoT companies in the world by Fast Company and its Xively platform won "Best Enabling Technology" at the 2014 M2M Evolution Battle of the Platforms.

In their selection of Xively, the GSMA judges called out the platform as "a great example of a public cloud platform purpose-built for developing and managing commercial products and solutions on the Internet of Things. It helps create connected experiences that transform how we understand, discover and interact with our environment."

"We believe that, by connecting their physical world to the Internet and leveraging newly accessible device-based data, businesses can realize tremendous efficiencies, deepen customer relationships and boost revenue," said LogMeIn's Chad Jones, VP Product Strategy for the Xively platform. "We're honored that the judges recognized how Xively's innovative approach makes it easy for companies to accelerate IoT-driven transformations."

"Now in the 19th year, the Global Mobile Awards once again showcase the outstanding level of innovation and creative products and services being developed across a diverse and growing industry," said John Hoffman, CEO, GSMA Ltd. "With more than 680 high-calibre entries this year, the competition was stronger than ever and it is a significant achievement to have been honoured today."
