Germany's Federal Network Agency Selects Kratos for Satellite Carrier Monitoring Solution

SAN DIEGO, March 10, 2014 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Kratos Defense & Security Solutions, Inc. (Nasdaq:KTOS), a leading National Security Solutions provider, announced today that its Integral Systems Europe (Kratos ISE) business group has been awarded a contract by Federal Network Agency, the spectrum regulator for the Federal Republic of Germany, to provide a satellite carrier monitoring solution and integrate it with Federal Network Agency's existing interference geolocation system. The new solution will allow satellite spectrum interference to be detected, fully characterized and the location of the interfering carrier to be determined.

As part of the contract, Kratos ISE will implement Monics®, the industry's leading carrier monitoring product from Kratos ISE's sister company, SAT Corporation (SAT). Kratos ISE already supports a geolocation solution for Federal Network Agency that is based upon SAT's satID® product. With the addition of Monics, Federal Network Agency will realize the benefits of a fully integrated, end-to-end satellite interference detection and geolocation system critical to effective frequency management and spectrum regulation.

"Radio frequency regulators such as Federal Network Agency require the highest levels of accuracy and operational efficiency in signal interference management in order to fulfill their government mandates," said Bruno Dupas, President of Kratos ISE. "Having delivered many carrier monitoring solutions to government agencies and commercial operators, Kratos ISE will enable best-of-breed solutions implemented in a system design that is optimized for Federal Network Agency unique goals and operations."

"We have been extremely satisfied with satID's geolocation capabilities and look forward to adding Monics to provide complete satellite carrier monitoring in support of our mission. Our previous experience with Kratos ISE made them the ideal choice for this very important extension of our system," said Klaus Mecher, Official in Charge, Federal Network Agency.

Kratos ISE delivers satellite communications and ground systems to customers across Europe, Africa, and the Middle East. Kratos' portfolio of products and services span the entire range of systems including satellite carrier monitoring, geolocation, antenna/RF systems, monitoring and control, spectrum monitoring, geolocation as a service, frequency planning, DVB monitoring, help desk and more.
