Leading Supplemental Education Center Welcomes New Best-in-Class CEO

Chip Miller Brings a New Level of Leadership and Passion to Brain Balance Achievement Centers

NEWPORT BEACH, Calif., March 11, 2014 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Brain Balance Achievement Centers, a leading supplemental learning education center implementing a drug-free approach to help children between the ages of 4 and 17 overcome learning and behavioral challenges, announced today that it has named Chip Miller as the new Chief Executive Officer. As an expert in the industry with extensive education and business experience, Miller brings with him decades of knowledge from nationally recognized brands to the Brain Balance Achievement Centers Team.

Prior to joining Brain Balance Achievement Centers, Miller successfully helped grow Score!, a Kaplan Inc. acquired mission-driven company operating after school tutoring centers, from nine original locations in 1995 to 100 locations by the end of 1999. Miller climbed the leadership ranks starting as an Assistant Director to the Senior VP of Operations, in which he ran the entire field of over 164 centers throughout the U.S. Working from the ground level up, Miller helped build the organization that had positively impacted the lives of more than 250,000 children at the time of his departure in 2006.

After a quick detour off the education track, working for Workforcelogic managing client relationships and service delivery for Fortune 1000 companies, Miller's passion for education came calling again. This time, to join a fast-growing, private equity backed education company called Stratford Schools. There, he partnered with the CEO to build strategy that significantly increased revenue growth and profitability. With a Bachelor of Arts from Sonoma State University as well as an advanced certification in teaching English and French, Miller has a deeply rooted passion and understanding of education management and leadership practices that will drive results.

"With Chip, we have found the right CEO to take Brain Balance Achievement Centers to the next level," said Dr. Robert Melillo, Founder of Brain Balance Achievement Centers. "As we further our development efforts and open new centers, we'll have the chance to help even more children discover their full potential, and Chip's breadth and depth of education and leadership knowledge is just what the company needs in this next phase of growth."

With nearly 55 centers nationwide, Brain Balance Achievement Centers plans to open 15 additional corporate and franchise locations in 2014. Company executives see substantial franchise growth opportunities throughout the U.S., including Florida, Texas, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Connecticut, Illinois, Indiana and Minnesota. The popularity of this innovative, enriching program has been growing rapidly since its inception as its unique, research-based curriculum continues to help children overcome learning and behavioral challenges.

"The possibilities with Brain Balance Achievement Centers are endless, and I look forward to joining such a dynamic and ambitious organization with such a clear and focused vision to improve the lives of children with learning and behavioral challenges," said Miller. "I was attracted to the company's core values, combined with the team's collaborative approach to better the brand. I am eager to dive into the position and continue to build this exceptional company."
