Playa Hotels & Resorts Names Howard Tanenbaum Global Director of Group & Retail Sales


FT. LAUDERDALE, Fla., March 11, 2014 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Kevin Froemming, Executive Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer, Playa Resorts Management ("Playa"), today announced the appointment of Howard Tanenbaum as Global Director of Group & Retail Sales for Playa Resorts Management. Mr. Tanenbaum joins Playa from his position as President of Expedia CruiseShipCenters OVC.  

Mr. Tanenbaum will oversee Playa's North American Meetings and Incentive Sales as well as Retail Sales teams. Currently Playa manages Hyatt Ziva Los Cabos, Hyatt Zilara Cancun, THE ROYAL Playa del Carmen, Gran Caribe Real Cancun and Gran Porto Real Playa del Carmen. Opening in late fall 2014 are Hyatt Ziva and Hyatt Zilara Rose Hall, Jamaica, as well as Hyatt Ziva Cancun and Hyatt Ziva Puerto Vallarta.

Mr. Tanenbaum brings more than 25 years of travel industry sales experience. He began his travel career in Philadelphia as the owner/operator of a start-up, full service travel agency.   He joined GEM (later becoming part of VCOM) as Vice President of Training and Consulting. In 1999 he joined Club Med. During his tenure with Club Med, he was promoted to Vice President of Sales for the USA responsible for Travel Agency Sales, Group Sales and Call Centers.
