Traffic Statistics February 2014

CPH: Continuing growth

More than 1.6 million passengers travelled through Copenhagen Airport in February, which was a 3.9% year-on-year increase. The year-to-date increase in passenger numbers was 4.0%.

Copenhagen Airport set a new February record of 1,657,217 passengers, 3.9% more than in the same month of last year as the full-year effect of new routes in 2013 had a positive impact on the level of growth in early 2014. The increase was driven both by international and domestic traffic.

"When we look at week-by-week figures for international traffic in February, we see increases in both leisure traffic during the winter holiday weeks and in business traffic in the other weeks of the month. Moreover, we were pleased to see that domestic traffic has shown stable growth over the past few months after a couple of turbulent years," said Copenhagen Airport CEO Thomas Woldbye.

International traffic grew by 4.1%, domestic traffic grew by 2.4%, and there were 0.3% more transfer passengers than in the same month of 2013. On the Top-10 list of destinations out of Copenhagen, Istanbul, Amsterdam and Stockholm saw the strongest growth in February.

"Not least the growth to Istanbul seems stable, and we expect additional growth on that destination when Turkish Airlines introduces a larger aircraft, the Airbus 330, on one of their three daily flights to Istanbul,” said Woldbye.
