Xoom Wins a "W3 Award" in the Mobile Websites Finance Category

In the Fourth Quarter of 2013, 42 Percent of Xoom's Transactions Were Sent Via Mobile Devices


SAN FRANCISCO, March 13, 2014 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Xoom Corporation (Nasdaq:XOOM), a leading digital money transfer provider, has won a 2013 Silver Award from W3, in recognition for Xoom's Mobile Website in the finance category. Xoom's Mobile Website was judged on the following factors: creativity, usability, navigation, functionality, visual design and ease of use. The W3 Awards honors creative excellence on the Web, and recognizes the creative and marketing professionals behind award winning Websites, Web Video and Online Marketing programs.

Xoom launched its fully optimized mobile site in November 2011. The secure mobile site, m.xoom.com, was developed in partnership with Usablenet and allows customers to send money at any time, from any Internet-enabled location.

In 2013, 35 percent of Xoom's transactions were sent via mobile devices compared to 20 percent in 2012. In the fourth quarter of 2013, 42 percent of Xoom's transactions were sent via mobile devices. During 2013, approximately $1.2 billion of Xoom's gross sending volume was sent from mobile devices which represented growth of approximately 186 percent compared to 2012. In 2013, Xoom announced that the Xoom Money Transfer App was available in both English and Spanish, for Android and iOS devices.
