According to announcements of the Bulgarian regulatory authority for the
power industry DKEVR, it has commenced proceedings today against the
Bulgarian power company subsidiary of EVN AG, EVN EC (EVN Bulgaria
Elektrosnabdiavane EAD), for the suspension of its license for the sale of
electricity in the regulated market to end consumers based on an allegation
of failure to pay outstanding invoice amounts to NEK, the state power
company. EVN EC intends to defend its rights in the proceedings in order to
stop the - in its opinion - unjustified proceedings as soon as possible.
The grid company of EVN in Bulgaria, EVN EP (EVN Bulgaria
Elektrorazpredelenie EAD), is not affected by the preceding matters.

The commencement of proceedings should also be considered in light of the
fact that EVN AG has, as previously announced, commenced investment
protection proceedings before the World Bank in Washington against the
Republic of Bulgaria due to damages suffered by EVN AG in Bulgaria during
the past few years on account of unlawful and incorrect legislative actions
and regulatory measures.
