Systems Showcase Enabling Technologies With Multiple 'Industry First' Innovations


BRISBANE, Calif., March 20, 2014 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Cutera, Inc. (Nasdaq:CUTR), a leading provider of laser, light and other energy-based aesthetic systems for practitioners worldwide, is unveiling two new systems at the 72nd American Academy of Dermatology conference in Denver, Colorado, held from March 21-25, 2014.

These two new products are the Company's latest innovations targeted to core physicians for the hair removal, tattoo removal and benign pigmented lesion segments of the growing aesthetic market:

  • excel HRTM is the world's first premier hair removal laser system to feature dual wavelengths (755 nm/1064 nm) combined with best-in-class sapphire contact cooling for enhanced patient safety, efficacy, and comfort. It allows practitioners to treat all skin types with a modern and ergonomically designed system. Further, there are no consumables and it has a lower operating cost, compared to traditional hair removal systems. excel HR has received 510(k) clearance by the Food and Drug Administration and is expected to commence commercial shipments in the second quarter of 2014 with significant revenue contributions occurring in the second half of 2014. 
     
  • enlightenTMis the world's first and only laser platform featuring dual wavelength (532 nm/1064 nm) and both picosecond and nanosecond pulse durations to effectively and efficiently clear a wide range of tattoo colors, ink compositions and pigment concerns. enlighten has received the CE Mark in Europe and is currently pending 510(k) clearance by the Food and Drug Administration and is not available for commercial sale in the U.S. at the present time. We expect to commence commercial shipments in the second half of 2014 (with U.S. shipments subject to FDA clearance).
