Ximen Compiling and Analysing All Previous Exploration Data; Brett Gold Property, Vernon, BC

VANCOUVER, British Columbia, March 25, 2014 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Ximen Mining Corp. (TSX-V:XIM) (the "Company" or "Ximen") is pleased to announce that it has engaged the services of John May to assist Linda Caron with the GIS compilation and data interpretation on the Brett Property. Mr. May recently retired as a Senior Geologist of Kinross Gold Corp. at their Republic operations, and is intimately familiar with epithermal gold deposit models. The GIS compilation and data interpretation is expected to be completed in late April or early May.

Ximen has compiled a near complete package of historic exploration data from the Brett property, from work by former operators between 1985 and 2011. The company is currently working towards a rigorous analysis of this data. Complete geological, structural, alteration and analytical information from 131 historic diamond drill holes has been entered into digital format for the first time, to allow 3D interpretation of the information. This will help define structural and lithological controls to mineralization, as well as zoning and location within the epithermal system.

Linda Caron states: "The mineralization at Brett is typical of a classic low-sulfidation epithermal system. Gold occurs in high-grade, low-sulfide bonanza type veins with textures including banding, brecciation, stockwork zones and coarse visible gold. The volcanic host rocks surrounding the mineralized zones are intensely argillic altered, with more proximal zones of phyllic and potassic alteration and silicification. The veins have strong structural controls and many of the faults controlling mineralization are long-lived features with considerable post-vein movement along them. There are also stratigraphic controls to gold mineralization. High-grade veins are best developed in more brittle volcanic lithologies, while the more permeable volcaniclastic units host disseminated bulk tonnage gold mineralization."

Mapping out patterns of alteration in 3D shows where the originally zoned mineralizing system remains intact, and where it is displaced by post-mineral faults. A better understanding of the geological and structural setting through the GIS compilation will allow better targeting of these two different target styles.

Results from historic surface exploration (geological mapping, soil and rock geochemistry) are also being incorporated into the GIS database.

Ximen Mining Corp. is a publicly listed company trading on the TSX Venture (XIM), and is listed on the Frankfurt, Stuttgart and Berlin Stock Exchanges (U9U) in Germany under the symbol A1W2EG.
