Tenex Health Achieves Major Milestone of 10,000 Successful Procedures to Treat Chronic Tendonitis

LAKE FOREST, Calif., April 1, 2014 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Tenex Health, Inc. today proudly announced it achieved the milestone of 10,000 successful procedures. Tenex Health first introduced the Tenex Health TX™ System in February, 2012 to treat patients' suffering from chronic tendon pain called tendonosis and has quickly grown based on clinical results and outstanding patient experience.

Over 10 Million people visit their doctor each year for tendon pain, and at least 25% of these patients become chronic sufferers. Commonly called Tennis Elbow, Golfer's Elbow, Runner's Knee, Achilles Tendonitis and Plantar Fasciitis. Patients can suffer for months to years because current conservative treatments do not treat chronic tendon damage.

"The achievement of successfully treating 10,000 patients within two years of commercially launching into the market demonstrates the need for a true solution for the millions of people in our country who suffer from chronic tendon pain," said Jagi Gill, Founder and Chief Scientific Officer. "Conservative treatments often mask the pain but do not treat the cause of the pain the way the Tenex Health TX™ procedure does. When developing the Tenex Health TX™ System, our goal was to specifically address the pain generating tissue and stimulate a healing response, allowing people to return to their active lifestyle quickly," Gill continued. "We are pleased that physicians can now offer their patients a minimally invasive solution that is safe, well-tolerated, and effective in treating their chronic pain."

"The rapid acceptance of the TX System™, by both physicians and patients, is a true testament to the power of offering a safe and definitive solution," said Bernard Morrey, MD, Chief Medical Officer of Tenex Health, as well as the Emeritus Chairman and Professor of Orthopaedics at Mayo Clinic, and a current Professor of Orthopaedics at the University of Texas Health Science Center, San Antonio. "The exceptional safety profile and effectiveness, as well as the quick recovery, means physicians can offer a reliable solution to patients who have suffered for months to years with activity-limiting pain. What is particularly attractive to me, and to Tenex Health, is that this new technology also provides a cost effective solution for this common problem."

"We are thrilled to have achieved such a significant milestone this quickly in our commercialization plan. We are pleased to have helped so many silent sufferers and believe this quick adoption combined with our strong clinical results will provide the foundation for our continued growth," said Jay Hallinan, President and CEO of Tenex Health. "We believe the Tenex Health TX procedure will become the standard of care for those patients suffering from the debilitating pain of damaged tendons."

About Tenex Health, Inc.

Tenex Health, Inc. (www.tenexhealth.com) (www.tenexhealthpatient.com) develops and markets innovative therapies for the treatment of tendon pain due to trauma or repetitive motion injuries. The minimally invasive technique utilizes the company's proprietary TX MicroTipTM handpiece to cut and debride diseased tissue in an outpatient setting, in under 20 minutes, using only a local anesthetic. Since the surrounding healthy tendon tissue is not disturbed, patients enjoy less discomfort and faster recovery times versus traditional open surgical procedures.
