Popular Healthy Food Guide Available for iPhone, iPad, iPod Touch

Washington, DC, April 16, 2014 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Grocery shoppers looking for wholesome, nutritious foods will have an easier time with the assistance of a new app, 'Find Real Food,' which was released nationwide on April 16.

The 'Find Real Food' app catalogs over 13,000 products spanning 30 categories - including grains, dairy, snack foods and beverages and more - giving shoppers assurance that the foods they purchase are truly nutritious and free of toxic additives and preservatives.

Users can browse or search the directory for products that are commonly found in health food stores and grocers, filtering results by where products can be purchased (in stores vs. online) or by user ratings. For harder-to-find grass-fed meats and farm-fresh dairy, the app also lists small, family-owned farms that sell directly from the farm and mail order companies that deliver nationwide.

Users can rate and review products, sharing specific likes and dislikes with the 'Find Real Food' community. Users can also elect to share their favorite newly-discovered foods automatically with friends on Facebook.

The creation of the 'Find Real Food' app was inspired by The Weston A. Price Foundation Shopping Guide for Finding the Healthiest Foods in Supermarkets, Health Food Stores and by Mail Order. The 'Find Real Food' app transforms this extensive booklet into a searchable digital guide that is readily available on users' iPhones when they are out and about, providing a practical shopping solution for health-conscious consumers who value wholesome, nutritious foods.

"The 'Find Real Food' app is a wonderful opportunity to build recognition and spread the influence of The Weston A. Price Foundation, and to support artisanal food processors who are providing us with healthy foods," says Sally Fallon Morell, president of the foundation. The Weston A. Price Foundation is an educational non-profit focused on promoting traditional, nutrient-dense foods.

'Find Real Food: the WAPF Shopping Guide for the Highest Quality Foods Available' is available for purchase through the iTunes App Store, and is compatible with the iPhone, iPod Touch, and iPad. Users can purchase a 6-month subscription for $2.99 or a 12-month subscription for $4.99.

As an added bonus, all users who download the app will have access to the Real Food News blog, which features articles from over 30 bloggers who write about news, stories and recipes pertaining to natural foods, health and nutrition.

'Find Real Food' was funded and developed by Real Food Mobile, LLC. Consumers can learn more information, preview and download the app at www.realfoodmobileapp.com, or subscribe to the App through iTunes.
