NACD to Develop Education Tracking System for Corporate Directors

Platform Will Enable Corporate Directors to Demonstrate Their Commitment to Continuous Learning and Leadership in the Boardroom

WASHINGTON, April 24, 2014 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- The National Association of Corporate Directors (NACD) announced today that it will introduce an online resource for corporate directors to showcase their commitment to continuous learning.

NACD's platform will enable corporate directors to efficiently capture and share the knowledge-building programs they have completed. The system will be the first global resource to document corporate directors' board-related courses completed with NACD and other organizations.

In keeping with NACD's philosophy of continuous learning, NACD's education tracking system will allow user-defined viewers to easily identify the courses and programs that a director has completed.

The NACD platform will be available free of charge to all corporate directors--whether NACD members or not. The system will create a transcript that includes NACD events attended and NACD Fellowship credentials earned, and self-reported programs provided in-boardroom by their companies and completed through other organizations. Subscribers' directorships and leadership roles may be included, among other user-defined fields.

"NACD is committed to advancing exemplary board leadership, and NACD's director education tracking system will be an essential tool to help directors demonstrate their commitment to boardroom excellence and bolster stakeholder confidence," said Ken Daly, president and CEO of NACD. "Clearly, knowledge-building and contemporary awareness are critical for directors to be exemplary. With the NACD director education tracking system they will be able to demonstrate their individual commitment to continuing director education."

NACD's education tracking system will be operational in 2015.
