Sightlines Names Two New Regional Account Executives

Fast-Growing Provider of Information Services to Higher Ed Institutions in North America Hires Experienced Representatives for West and Southwest Regions

GUILFORD, Conn., April 30, 2014 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Sightlines, a leader in helping academic institutions better manage their facilities and capital investment strategies, today announced the appointment of Karen Gumin as regional account executive for the Western U.S. and Marshall Hill as regional account executive for the Southwestern U.S.

The two new Sightlines representatives will be responsible for cultivating new academic institutions to join the Sightlines member list and managing client relationships with colleges and universities in their respective territories. Gumin will be based in San Francisco and work closely with the Sightlines office in Portland, Oregon, and Hill will be based in Austin, Texas.

"It's important for Sightlines to form strong liaisons with higher education finance and facilities managers in order for them to understand the robust information services we can deliver to universities that will help them better manage their facilities investments," said Mark Schiff, executive vice president and chief operating officer of Sightlines. "Karen and Marshall are both highly experienced in the higher education market and will be tremendous assets to academic institutions in these key regions, particularly to support our expansion in the states of California and Texas."

Gumin has nearly 25 years of professional experience in the higher education business, including roles as the first regional director for the California Student Aid Commission and as the West Region vice president for a Department of Education Compliance servicer, Great Lakes Higher Education. Starting her emerging projects trend in facilities and student services, she was selected by the Leon Panetta Institute to join the inaugural start-up team for the newest Cal State University Campus, Monterey Bay, when it was converted from the Fort Ord Military Base in 1995. Gumin, who is also a published author, received her bachelor of arts degree from UC Berkeley and her master of arts degree in higher education policy from San Jose State University.

Hill has spent the last decade working with higher education institutions across the U.S. Prior to joining Sightlines, he worked in sales and account management for Cengage Learning, John Wiley & Sons, and most recently PeopleAdmin, where he worked as a regional account executive in the Western U.S. to help higher education institutions run their talent management processes more efficiently. Hill earned a bachelor of science degree from the University of Texas - Austin.
