Afognak Native Corporation Names New President/CEO

Relocating from Alabama to Alaska

ANCHORAGE, AK, ALASKA, May 1, 2014 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- After a thorough and extensive nationwide search, the Afognak Native Corporation Board of Directors is pleased to announce the hire of its new President and CEO Gregory Hambright to lead Afognak and its family of companies into its next phase of growth and business diversification.
Hambright brings lengthy experience and an impressive resume, including an outstanding track record of business success. He served as Senior Vice President of Technical Services for Afognak's largest wholly owned subsidiary, Alutiiq, LLC while working in its Huntsville, Ala.-based corporate office. During his tenure in this capacity, he guided the growth of Alutiiq's Technical Services Division into a high-performing and stable international business model. It is now one of Alutiiq's most successful business lines. He brings a unique combination of skill and experience to his new role, including a deep understanding of Alutiiq business operations, extensive government service experience, proven commercial product hardware development skills and a successful mergers and acquisitions background.

Before joining Alutiiq in 2004, Hambright served in senior and executive positions with Teledyne Industries, Intergraph Corporation and ManTech Corporation. He also served as Chief Engineer on two U.S. Space Shuttle Missions and as a Fixed Wing Aviator in the U.S. Navy. He holds a BS in accounting and an MBA with a concentration in computer science. He also holds U.S. patents in diffractive optics.

Denise May, Chair of Afognak's Board of Directors, stated, "In Greg's time with Alutiiq, he has proven himself a visionary and a highly capable leader. He brings vast business experience and a steady hand to lead Afognak and its family of companies in this competitive business environment while we continue to diversify our business lines. Given Greg's history with Alutiiq, he has an intimate familiarity with our business lines and organizational structure, which ensures a smooth transition. We are very enthusiastic about our future with Greg as the President and CEO of the company."

Hambright will be relocating from Alabama to Alaska to assume the President and CEO position effective May 1. He will transition with Interim President and CEO, Dusty Kaser, who has a history of collaboration with Hambright during Kaser's tenure as President and CEO of Afognak. Kaser retired in 2007 prior to returning in an interim capacity. Their familiarity will ensure a seamless transition in leadership.

"The Board is very grateful to Dusty Kaser for returning as President and CEO over the last few months while we searched for the permanent hire," said May. "Dusty's gracious willingness to reassume this role ensured the Board could engage in the deliberative process necessary to appoint the best candidate possible for this position."
