Azzur Group, LLC and BioSPEQ, Inc. announce merger

The two companies will combine to create a full-service life sciences organization.

Willow Grove, PA, May 1, 2014 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Azzur Group, LLC and BioSPEQ, Inc., announced today plans to merge the two companies together. The union will provide customers with access to a wide-range of project management, process engineering and compliance services within the life sciences industry.

"This is a great opportunity for everyone involved," says Mark O'Donnell, president of Azzur Group. "BioSPEQ has a process engineering component that dovetails nicely into the Azzur service offerings. There's a great synergy between the two companies as far as complimentary services. This merger will also position us as a national company, with the capacity to take on much bigger projects. From an operational standpoint, it's a great fit because we have the same overall goals and function from the very same principles. There's a lot of overlap, a lot of opportunity for collaboration and a lot of excitement about this merger."

The Azzur-BioSPEQ union will create a full-service organization providing consulting services and project resources within the quality assurance, laboratory, clinical, IT/IM, business processes, manufacturing, operations, and research and development settings to pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and medical device companies.

"We are excited to be able to come together with Azzur and build something that will provide many more opportunities for our clients and employees," said Shaleen Parekh, chief operating officer of BioSPEQ. "The largest benefit of this merger is that we are going to be able to offer what we call discovery-to-delivery service. We'll now have the capacity to serve our customers throughout every step of the system life cycle, as well as the means to take on large-scale projects nationwide."

Together, Azzur and BioSPEQ offer an experienced staff that can help with requirements definition, vendor selection, configuration, implementation, testing and validation, process engineering and maintenance.

The Azzur-BioSPEQ merger is the latest in a series of new developments for Azzur Group. Earlier this month, the company acquired Azot, LLC and formed Azzur Engineering. This expansion is part of a strategic plan that includes merging and acquiring new businesses to grow the Azzur Group service offerings.

"It's very important to us to continue to evolve as an organization," said Michael Kavinson, CEO of Azzur Group. "Building partnerships with other businesses within our field helps us to foster innovation and equates to outsized growth overall."

Azzur Group's main office is located in Willow Grove, PA, with additional offices in Frederick, MD, San Antonio, TX, Cambridge, MA, Cary, NC and Palo Alto, CA. BioSPEQ, Inc., is headquartered in Irvine, California with additional offices in Lexington, MA and San Diego, CA.
