Hill International to Manage Construction of the Interdisciplinary Science and Engineering Complex at Northeastern University

MARLTON, N.J. and BOSTON, May 8, 2014 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Hill International (NYSE:HIL), the global leader in managing construction risk, announced today that it has received a contract from Northeastern University to provide owner's representative services in connection with the construction of the Interdisciplinary Science and Engineering Complex (ISEC) on the university's campus in Boston, Massachusetts.

The ISEC is a $225 million, 220,000-square-foot complex that will help transform Northeastern's research enterprise by providing state-of-the-art infrastructure, fostering collaboration across disciplines, and increasing the university's capacity to hire top faculty and academic leaders. The complex's six stories plus basement will contain laboratory and computational research facilities as well as interactive teaching and learning spaces. A new curved and landscaped pedestrian bridge, known as "The Arc," will span the rail corridor to connect the ISEC to the campus open space network and existing science and engineering buildings. Designed by Payette, one of the nation's most award-winning architectural firms for high-technology science and research buildings, the complex will be operationally efficient and LEED certified. The ISEC is scheduled to open in 2016.

"We are honored that Northeastern has turned to Hill for such an important project," said Jack C. Hobbs, FAIA, Senior Vice President and New England Regional Manager for Hill's Project Management Group. "We look forward to contributing to the successful completion of this impressive educational and research facility," added Hobbs.
