The first two Galileo FOC satellites arrived safely in their clean room in
Kourou at 20:00 on Wednesday, May 7, 2014, in line with a planning
established in September 2013. This was reported by Alain Pajonk, the OHB
manager responsible for the Galileo launch campaign.
Named "Doresa" and "Milena", the two Galileo FOC satellites arrived at the
Félix Éboué international airport in French-Guiana at 02:00 am local time
on Wednesday, May 7, 2014. They spent the day in an airlock to acclimatize
before being taken to their new home, the S1A clean room.

After successfully passing the Flight Readiness Review (FRR) last week, the
two Galileo FOC satellites were released for shipment to the French
overseas department. "Thanks to the good collaboration between the
participating industrial teams and the experts at the European Space Agency
ESA as our customer, OHB was able to successfully finish the FRR," says
OHB's Director of Navigation Wolfgang Paetsch who will be personally
overseeing the launch preparations in Kourou.

"With the arrival of the first two Galileo FOC satellites in Kourou, we
have passed a further key milestone. Spurred by the extraordinary
performance of the entire Galileo team, we are now eagerly awaiting the
launch," says Galileo project manager Dr. Pascal Knobloch. The two
navigation satellites are now being prepared for launch. This includes a
mechanical check, a final review of the flight parameters and the filling
of the tanks.

"Adam", the third Galileo FOC satellite is currently undergoing testing
under space conditions at European Test Services (ETS) in Noordwijk,
Netherlands. The fourth Galileo FOC satellite "Anastacia" will commence
final testing at OHB in Bremen before being shipped to the ESTEC testing
center in Noordwijk.
In addition to these four satellites, OHB is also working on a further 10
satellites at its clean-room facilities.

OHB System is the industrial prime contractor responsible for the total of
22 Galileo FOC satellites. The Galileo satellites are named for the
children who won a painting competition organized by the European
Commission in 2011.

*The FOC (full operational capability) phase of the Galileo program is
being funded and executed by the European Union. The European Commission
and the European Space Agency ESA have signed a contract under which ESA
acts as the development and sourcing agency on behalf of the Commission.
