HOUSTON and PALO ALTO, Calif., May 20, 2014 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Big data management for the enterprise received another booster shot today as BMC Software and Hortonworks announced a new partnership to help customers integrate and manage their Apache Hadoop deployments.

The partnership is fueled by BMC Control-M for Hadoop, a powerful, easy-to-use big data management framework that simplifies the creation of big data applications, automates batch processing for extremely large data sets, and accelerates integration of Hadoop and other business-critical enterprise application workflows. BMC Control-M for Hadoop is a purpose-built version of its market-leading workload automation software.

To strengthen the partnership, BMC announced that effective immediately BMC Control-M for Hadoop now supports Hortonworks Data Platform, the industry's only 100-percent open source enterprise Hadoop distribution. The combined software offering works to empower customers with big data management products and services to help drive their businesses forward.
