Government of Canada supports the Carrefour international de theatre de Quebec


QUÉBEC CITY, QUÉBEC--(Marketwired - May 22, 2014) - Department of Canadian Heritage

The Honourable Suzanne Fortin-Duplessis, Senator, today announced $290,000 in funding for the Carrefour international de théâtre de Québec. Of this amount, $145,000 is for the 15th edition of the Carrefour, which is taking place from May 22 to June 12, 2014; an identical sum has been allocated for the 2015 edition. Senator Fortin-Duplessis made this announcement on behalf of the Honourable Shelly Glover, Minister of Canadian Heritage and Official Languages.

This funding, granted under the Canada Arts Presentation Fund, will allow Québec City's residents and visitors to discover the best of national and international theatre.

Quick Facts

  • The 15th Carrefour international de théâtre de Québec will consist of more than 50 performances and 35 social activities, in addition to lively evenings at Le Zinc café-bar.
  • This year the festival will again offer the ambulatory show Où tu vas quand tu dors en marchant…? ("Where do you go when you sleepwalk…?"), a spectacular free event in the streets of Québec City.
  • About 45,000 people attend the event each year.
