FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla., May 27, 2014 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Silver Airways, Florida's next generation regional airline, announced today it is adding multiple daily nonstop flights between Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport (FLL) and Jacksonville International Airport (JAX). The new service starts on August 19, 2014, with up to three flights per day, and increases to up to six daily flights on November 2, 2014.

In addition to linking the Northeast and South Florida, the new service will enhance connection opportunities for guests to Silver's popular destinations throughout the Bahamas and Key West, as well as over a dozen additional destinations outside of Florida via its codeshare and numerous interline partners.

Silver gives guests the opportunity to "depart from the ordinary" aboard its fleet of 34-seat fast and comfortable Saab 340B Plus aircraft.

To celebrate the new service, Silver is offering introductory fares* between Fort Lauderdale and Jacksonville from $79 (one way, including taxes and fees) through May 29, 2014, for nonstop travel between June 9, 2014 and November 5, 2014. "Silver's presence in JAX continues to grow, and we are pleased to provide more nonstop flight options for our business and leisure travelers."

"Broward County Aviation Department is excited to increase service to this important intrastate market," said Doug Webster, Deputy Director, Broward County Aviation Department. "Silver Airways is growing at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport and we look forward to offering Florida travelers more destination options."
