jogoReno Announces Plans for 68,000-Square-Foot Court Sports Tournament Facility

RENO, Nev., May 28, 2014 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- via PRWEB - Northern Nevada-based jogoReno recently announced plans for an $11 million, four-story, 68,000-square-foot court sports tournament facility in the heart of Reno, Nev. The Grand Sierra Resort has entered into a 30-year lease agreement to support development of the venue, which is set to include 32 courts, moveable walls, LED-lighted floors and a 600-seat stadium. jogoReno is currently in its funding phase and will begin construction in the fall of 2014.

Anticipated to be the only facility of its kind in the world, jogoReno will be built on Grand Sierra Resort property but owned by the facility's managing partners and key shareholders. The Grand Sierra Resort is a 2,000-room casino resort featuring more than 200,000 square feet of meeting and convention space, an aqua driving range, bowling alley, movie theater, 11 restaurants and cafes, and five bars and lounges. In 2012, the property attracted more than 425,000 visitors. Accredited investors may contact Mike Neeser for more information.

In addition to visitor volume to the Grand Sierra Resort and northern Nevada as a whole, jogoReno notes positive growth in court sports participation as a key factor in its business plan. According to a 2012 study from the Sporting Goods Manufacturers Association (SGMA), the number of core players in sports such as squash, badminton, table tennis and indoor soccer have increased substantially with 27, 18, 19 and 10 percent growth, respectively. Add to that the fact that the number of health club members in America increased by nearly 25 percent from 2007 to 2012, and jogoReno is confident in its future success.

"The lease offering from the Grand Sierra Resort is a tremendous vote of confidence and provides an incredible opportunity for stable growth," said Mike Neeser, managing partner of jogoReno. "The value added through attachment to such a large-scale, reputable property, combined with industry growth statistics gives us great confidence that jogoReno will become the premier venue for court-based sports not only in the United States, but in the world."

Neeser, a 25-year veteran of the court sports industry and an avid player, also cites logistical issues with current court sports tournament operations as reason for anticipated growth.

"Currently the largest court sports tournaments in the country take place across multiple venues spread throughout host cities in order to accommodate the number of players," explained Neeser. "A facility like jogoReno not only makes hosting these tournaments easier, it makes them more affordable and also offers a destination experience to attendees thanks to the wide range of activities and events that northern Nevada offers. Reno is an ideal location for a venue of this type. "

jogoReno is expected to be the world's largest racquet and court-based tournament arena that also offers top-of-the-line accommodations. Located in Reno, Nev. and connected to the Grand Sierra Resort, jogoReno includes plans for 32 courts with moveable walls to allow play of racquetball, squash, dodgeball, half-court basketball, wallyball, handball, court soccer, pickleball, table tennis and badminton.
