He will present his widely acclaimed new and novel models in predicting sovereign debt markets' probability of default, contrasting the results with market measures and traditional rating agency and bank models and forecasts.

Dr. Altman will also explore the current yield, spread, and outlook for US, Canadian, and Mexican default as well as provide commentary on future risks, especially for the US. Edward I. Altman, PhD, is the Max L. Heine Professor of Finance at the Stern School of Business, New York University, and Director of Research in Credit and Debt Markets at the NYU Salomon Center. Previously, he chaired the Stern School's MBA program for twelve years. Dr. Altman has an international reputation as an expert on corporate bankruptcy, high yield bonds, distressed debt and credit risk analysis. He was inducted into the Fixed Income Analyst Society's Hall of Fame in 2001 and is an advisor to many financial, consulting, and governmental institutions. Altman was named one of the "100 Most Influential People in Finance" by Treasury & Risk Management magazine in 2005.
