Exponent Announces Authorization of Additional Stock Repurchase Plan


MENLO PARK, Calif., May 30, 2014 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Exponent, Inc. (Nasdaq:EXPO) today announced that its Board of Directors has authorized an additional stock repurchase plan.

Exponent's Board of Directors has approved an additional $35 million dollars in share repurchases, adding to the Company's existing $19 million available under the Company's current authorization for repurchase. This plan authorizes Exponent to purchase its common stock in the open market or privately negotiated transactions in compliance with the Securities and Exchange Commission's Rule 10b-18. In total, the Company now has $54 million of total authorization available to repurchase shares.

"During 2013, we generated more than $61 million in cash from operations and closed the year with $156 million in cash and short-term investments," commented Dr. Paul Johnston, President and CEO. "Given our strong cash flow and balance sheet, we believe that a combination of stock repurchases and dividends will return value to shareholders.
